Garey Avis

Garey Avis has been a licensed guide for over 10 years and a passionate fisherman all of his life.  He started his guiding career on the rivers in Utah, and then eventually moved up to the Henry's Fork where he continued to guide. Unsurprisingly, he moved up the road to Montana where he now lives and guides today.  Gary tied fishing flies commercially for 5 years, and is still an avid fly tier.  He has worked at various fly shops and has taught fly tying classes for beginners, up to the advanced.  Garey has also guided in Argentina, South America. 

Gary has been guiding for 7 years in Montana and has been guiding 2 years with C. Francis & Co.  With his fishing knowledge, knowledge of the rivers and his easygoing attitude, we at C. Francis & Co., feel that he is a perfect match for any of our clients.  He will put together an individual program for each fishing client, depending on experience and knowledge, whether a first time fly fisher or a seasoned veteran.  He will help each client get the most of the waters, where to find the fish and help with technique, as well as which flies to recommend. Garey's professionalism and his deep dedication to the art of fly fishing has made him an invaluable asset to our company and to our clients.
